This 15-minute documentary for Bordeaux Métropole and the City of Bordeaux tells the story of the creation of the sector, which has been protected since 1967 and its necessary changes. From 2013 to 2019, an exceptional operation led to a complete revision of this town planning document with the visit of nearly 4,000 buildings led jointly by the heritage town planning and landscapes department of Bordeaux Métropole, the architects of buildings in France and the Nouvelle Aquitaine regional directorate of cultural affairs as well as the Lavigne & associés workshop.

This company, which is unique in France, makes it possible to consider a new safeguard and enhancement plan for Bordeaux which preserves heritage of course, but also invites new ways of living and living in the historic center in the light of sustainable town planning. With this in mind, consultation with the inhabitants and users of the site was carried out throughout the procedure. This film tells about this adventure and its challenges.
